The Running Revolution – in partnership with Lindell’s Hatch Patch and Bud Light Straw-Ber-Rita – are hosting an entirely free fun run and walk at 10 a.m. this Saturday, May 27th, 2017.

This run-walk is called Strawberry Fields for Running and Walking Together, and features 2.5K, 5K, and 10K distances. Those distances translate to 1.55 miles, 3.1 miles and 6.2 miles for imperial unit folks. Routes start at the Hatch Patch barn, 1959 Conewango Avenue in North Warren, across from the PennDOT storage area.

All routes are out and back loops. All participants will head north on Conewango Avenue from the Hatch Patch Barn to make a quick left on to Big 4 Road. Racers and walkers will then continue to their respective turnaround points, all on Big 4 Road.

Participants covering the 2.5K distance will have a completely asphalt course with two small rolling hills before their turnaround at Jennie Lane.

Runners and walkers participating in the 5K and 10K events continue past Jennie Lane and quickly encounter the hard packed earth and gravel of Big 4 Road as it winds along the Conewango Creek. Thanks to Pine Grove Township, this dirt road section of the run-walk will be closed to vehicular traffic for the morning.

5K walkers and runners will encounter their turnaround point 1.55 miles out, and 10K participants will head for home at 3.1 miles, where Big 4 Road again becomes asphalt. There will be a water station at the turn-around for the 5K race-walk open to all 5K and 10K runners and walkers.

Registration will open at * a.m. The event is entirely free, but a waiver must be signed for each person participating. The run-walk will have a tiered start to allow those with the fastest minute-per-mile pace to burn up the road, and allow the rest of us to easily find pace buddies.

Strawberry Fields for Running and Walking Together will take place rain or shine. Gatorade and water will be served at the finish line and the water station. Straw-Ber-Ritas will be on hand at the finish of the race for all racers and walkers over 21 with a valid drivers license.

Come on out and bring your family and friends, because this event is free to all to help everyone get out there and enjoy this gorgeous spring.
