It all began in Abilene, Texas in 1956. Larry was six, Steve was four, Rudy was two. They began making music together and singing gospel and country all through their early years. With time out for college, the brothers began
recording and touring in the 70’s through the 80’s, with their music topping the charts and touching the lives of fans of all ages. They parted to pursue other interests but re-formed in 2005 to bring their music back. They’ve played numerous concert halls, festival stages, national television shows and even the White House for 5 of the last 7 presidents. They’ve been members of the Grand Old Opry for over forty years, winning many Country Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music Award and Grammies along the way.
In 2015 the Gatlin Brothers received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the great state of Texas. This past year they were inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, Texas. To their fans, Rudy says, “You have impacted our lives more than you can possibly imagine. One of the nicest things fans can say is that we are still singing & playing better than ever & that’s nice to hear.”
